The Stoke City striker did not enjoy the way he was sold by Spurs.
Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has spoken about his difficult departure from former club Tottenham Hotspur this week.
Crouch joined Spurs for the second time in his career back in 2009, after initially coming through the youth system at the club.

He spent two seasons at White Hart Lane before departing. He joined Stoke in what was a club-record deal but the manner in which Tottenham told him he was up for sale was not exactly gentlemanly. The London Evening Standard reported in June of this year that the deal even saw his accountant told that Crouch would not play for the club again, with his exit ending up at a tax tribunal.
Crouch, speaking to the Stoke Sentinel this week, has now admitted that his Spurs departure was not ideal:

“It was a shame how it ended at Tottenham because I loved it there – but I knew the manager wanted to bring in (Emmanuel) Adebayor and that meant me moving on.
“The way it was done wasn’t great.”
Crouch now remains at Stoke, but is struggling for regular game time at the Britannia Stadium. He is just four goals off of 100 Premier League strikes and has that target in sight.
With Emmanuel Adebayor just one in front of him in the all-time scoring charts for the Premier League – some sweet revenge in that regard will also go down nicely.
