Leeds United and Norwich City have been the Championship’s best teams this season, going by the table.

Peter Crouch has written in The Daily Mail that Norwich City have impressed him more than Leeds United have this season.

Both sides could well be playing Premier League football next season after leading the way in the Championship for much of the campaign.

Leeds sit top of the table ahead of Norwich, who closed the gap to two points after Marcelo Bielsa’s side lost 4-2 at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Elland Road side have been winning praise all season; not only for their free-flowing attacking football, but their high-energy pressing and relentless running out of possession.

But Crouch, who was part of the Stoke team that Leeds beat 3-1 on the first day of the season, says the Canaries have been the Championship’s stand-out team for him so far.

He wrote in The Daily Mail: “The automatic promotion places will probably be filled at the end of the year by two from leaders Leeds, Norwich and West Brom.

“Of those, Norwich impressed me most. We beat them 1-0 in October but they move the ball so well.

“Whoever goes up from those three, I can see them emulating Brighton and Wolves and being comfortable in the top flight.”

Leeds, who beat Daniel Farke’s side 3-0 at Carrow Road in August, still have it in their hands, but reinforcements are key this month.

Bielsa’s side are down to the bare bones due to injuries and it’d be a massive shame if their season was derailed by not strengthening when they had the chance.
