Peter Crouch comments on Liverpool against Barcelona

Liverpool will face Barcelona in the Champions League this week.

Burnley striker Peter Crouch has predicted in The Daily Mail that Liverpool will score against Barcelona at Camp Nou this week.

Premier League club Liverpool will take on Spanish outfit Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals this season.

The first leg of the tie will be held at Camp Nou in Barcelona on Wednesday evening, with the second leg to be played at Anfield in Liverpool next week.

Former Liverpool striker Crouch believes that Jurgen Klopp’s side will score at Camp Nou, and has suggested that the Reds can get the better of Barcelona over two legs to reach the final of the Champions League this season.

Crouch wrote in The Daily Mail: “I expect them to score in the Nou Camp on Wednesday and the second leg at Anfield will be an occasion to behold.

“Barcelona are fantastic but they will have it all to do to keep Liverpool’s front three quiet. If Jurgen Klopp can mastermind the kind of performance Rafa Benitez did 12 years ago, I can see them returning to Spain for the final on June 1.”

Entertaining tie

Barcelona and Liverpool are two of the best and most entertaining teams in Europe, and the two-legged affair between the two sides could be a classic.

Spanish and European giants Barcelona will head into the tie as favourites, as they have the world’s best footballer in Lionel Messi.

For Liverpool to win the tie, they have to figure out a way to stop the Argentine great.
