Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Peter Crouch has compared Liverpool star Mohamed Salah with Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski.
There’s no doubting that Salah and Lewandowski are amongst the best attacking players on the planet right now, and Crouch believes that the pair are similar in the fact that they’re underappreciated talents.
Indeed, the pundit claims that while everyone is looking for the next Lionel Messi, Salah and Lewandowski have emerged as elite talents who have somehow not been considered amongst the very best in the world.
What’s been written?
Crouch had nothing but good things to say about Salah.
“Anybody would want Salah. His relentlessness is incredible. No matter how Liverpool are playing, Salah scores. There is no doubt that he should be more revered,” Crouch wrote.
“Society is always looking for the next big thing. Everybody wants the next Messi or whatever. They want exciting and new.
“Salah is just like Robert Lewandowski in that sense. Why has Lewandowski never won the Ballon d’Or? How has that happened? Scoring goals is just what these guys do and it is taken for granted.”

The best in the world
As bizarre as this may sound, Crouch is right, somehow, Salah remains underrated.
The Egyptian has been putting up insane numbers for almost five years at this point, but somehow, he’s still not spoken about amongst the best players of his generation.
Perhaps it’s because he’s in such a talented team or perhaps it’s because his first season at Liverpool was his best, but for some reason, the winger’s exploits go under the radar.
Crouch speaks about Lewandowski never winning the Ballon d’Or, but perhaps the biggest shocker is the fact that Salah has never been voted in the top three contenders for that award.
