Newcastle United confirmed their promotion to the Premier League by beating Preston North End last night.

Peter Beagrie has told Sky Sports that he believes only three Newcastle United players are guaranteed of their places in Rafael Benitez squad next season.
Newcastle confirmed their promotion to the Premier League last night, after cruising past Preston North End.
The Magpies ran out 4-1 winners against Simon Grayson’s men to ensure that they would be playing top level football again next campaign.

However, Beagrie does not believe that many Newcastle players can feel safe.
The Sky Sports pundit claims that Newcastle will make a lot of changes this summer, and only Dwight Gayle, Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie can feel totally assured of their places in Benitez’s team.
“We have mentioned three key players, Jonjo Shelvey, Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie. They will certainly feature,” Beagrie said.
“For all the other players the jury will be out. Even some of the players that have covered themselves in glory with some starring performances this year. That’s the chasm to the Premier League.”
Newcastle’s attention has now turned to winning the title, with Brighton & Hove Albion their sole competition for top spot.
Newcastle are currently four points behind Brighton in the Championship standings, with just two games left to play this season.
