Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has raved about Clement Lenglet on the club’s YouTube channel following his move from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Premier League club Tottenham completed the signing of central defender Lenglet from La Liga outfit Barcelona last week.

The 27-year-old France international central defender has moved to Tottenham on a loan deal.

Tottenham head coach Conte is happy that the club could sign Lenglet and has spoken highly of him.

Conte said about Lenglet on YouTube channel, as transcribed by Dan Kilpatrick: “In the last two years, he didn’t play with the right continuity but for sure he can give us a lot of experience and personality.

“He’s good quality and then also I think with the three defenders he can give us more than to play with four at the back.”

Good signing for Spurs?

In our opinion, Clement Lenglet is a very good signing for Tottenham Hotspur, especially as it is a loan deal.

Spurs are under no pressure to make the loan deal permanent next summer.

It is like almost a trial for Tottenham.

Lenglet did not have the best of times at Barcelona, but he did well at Sevilla and Conte will feel that he could get him back to that level.

The Tottenham boss knows how to get a defence organised, and Lenglet’s experience in Europe and for playing for a big club such as Barcelona will come handy next season.

Tottenham will be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season, as well as compete in the UEFA Champions League.
