Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are on the verge of signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.

The Italian journalist has claimed that Aston Villa have a verbal agreement in place with Galatasaray over a loan for Nicolo Zaniolo.

Aston Villa about to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray

Premier League club Villa will sign Italy international playmaker Zaniolo on a loan deal from Turkish side Galatasaray.

The Villans will have the option to make the deal permanent next summer.

Romano has claimed that if everything goes to plan, then Zaniolo will undergo a medical on Wednesday.

Zaniolo has already agreed personal terms with the Villans, according to the reporter.

We believe that Zaniolo would be a very good signing for Villa in the summer transfer window.

First of all, it is a loan deal with no obligation to make it permanent.

So, there is not a huge risk for Villa in bringing Zaniolo to Villa Park.

If the 24-year-old does not make an impact for the Villans, then the Premier League club could just wave goodbye to him at the end of the season and sever ties.

Secondly, Zaniolo is a very good playmaker.

The Italian star is creative and would make Villa more threatening in attack.

Zaniolo can also play as a forward.

Things did not go according to plan last season at AS Roma, but Zaniolo still managed to get decent stats at Galasataray after leaving the Italian club in February 2023.

The playmaker made two starts and eight substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig for Galatasaray last season.

Zaniolo scored five goals in those games.

Galatasaray clinched the 2022-23 Turkish Super Lig title.
