Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on West Brom’s pursuit of Celta Vigo midfielder Okay Yokuslu, and it’s good news.

The transfer specialist revealed that the Baggies have agreed personal terms with the 28-cap Turkey international.

Now, the 26-year-old must complete a medical and obtain a work permit before getting down to business under Sam Allardyce.

Significantly, Romano says that there is neither an option, or obligation, for West Brom to buy Yokuslu permanently in the summer.

It seems as if the Baggies are closing in on two signings before Monday’s deadline.

Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne is believed to be close to swapping Istanbul for the Midlands.

The Telegraph revealed that West Brom were hoping for the Senegal international to fly into England to undergo a medical.

The Telegraph add that a loan deal for the former Juventus striker is expected to be completed before Monday’s deadline.

It will be interesting to see if Diagne and Yokuslu will be able to provide the injection of quality needed for West Brom to avoid the drop.

Allardyce’s side currently sit seven points from safety in the Premier League, and were just hammered 5-0 by Manchester City at the Hawthorns.
