Could the Arsenal man learn from his Tottenham Hotspur counterpart?
Former Arsenal defender Perry Groves has intimated on talkSPORT that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could learn a thing or two from Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli.
For a while there it was suggested that the Gunners might cut their losses and sell Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose 2015-16 campaign was hampered by a lack of fitness and form – mainly the latter.
But injuries have hindered so much of his Arsenal career after joining from Southampton for £11 million five years ago now.
On the white half of the North London divide, Tottenham seem to have a player in Alli who is fulfilling his potential and thensome, with the 19-year-old enjoying a phenomenal breakthrough season in the Premier League last season.
He seems to dominate and influence matches in the same way that Arsenal fans would love to see from the 22-year-old, and Groves, who spent six years at the Gunners, says Oxlade-Chamberlain should learn from Alli – but not copy him.
“He’s got everything and if I was him I’d be looking at Dele Alli at Spurs,” Groves said on talkSPORT.
“He could be a very similar player – don’t copy him, but when Alli plays for Spurs, he looks like he believes he is the best player on the pitch.”
