Speaking on his Podcast, Phil Hay has been discussing Stuart Dallas and his mentality after he went down with a serious injury against Manchester City.

The Northern Irishman fractured his femur against City, and he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

However, if Dallas had picked up just a minor injury, he probably would have played through the pain.

Indeed, according to Hay, the utility man has been playing through injuries all year long, stating that a toe problem has plagued him for quite some time now.

What’s been said?

Hay spoke about Dallas’ ongoing injuries.

“When I spoke to Adam Forshaw, he said that Dallas is always injured, but he just plays through it. They joke about this toe of his which seems to be hanging off, permanently sore or whatever and he’s been playing through it for so long that it’s just something of a standing joke,” Hay said.

Time to reset

Dallas will be out for a long time with a fractured femur, but this spell on the sidelines may also give the rest of his body some time to recover.

Dallas has been playing and training relentlessly for three years now, and while it’s never good to be seriously injured, a chance for his body to recover could actually do him the world of good in some ways.

Hopefully, Dallas is back from his injury sooner rather than later, and when he returns, he should be fresher than ever.
