According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese international has requested to the club to depart. Ronaldo hopes to find a new club, with the transfer window set to close in under ten days.
It is a surprising update given that the Juventus star seemingly put to bed rumours that he could be leaving the Serie A side via a post on Instagram. However, it appears that there is a twist in the tale.
Indeed, few sides can afford Ronaldo given his incredible wages. But one club who could is Man City. Moreover, Corriere dello Sport recently reported via Sport Witness that the player’s agent had met with the club.
With City looking to sign a striker this summer, Ronaldo could be an option for Pep Guardiola’s side. Harry Kane remains the club’s top priority this window, though.
With time running out and Tottenham looking unlikely to sell Kane, Ronaldo could be a shock option for City. Moreover, on social media, fans are begging the club to make a move for the striker.
