Jamie Redknapp has raved about Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane on Sky Sports following his performance for England against Iran at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.
The former Tottenham and England international midfielder has described Kane’s performance for the Three Lions as “perfect”.
England eased past Iran 6-2 in their opening Group B match on Monday.
Tottenham striker Kane did not score, but he gave two assists.

Redknapp said about Kane, as transcribed by TBR: “He is so important for this team, as a captain, that authority he has. We need him.
“You can see he feels really free with his play at the moment. He’s looking great. And it’s exactly what we need. He’s our talisman. Right now, those results are great. But we’re going to need the odd 1-0 if we’re going to win this tournament.

“And that’s when you’re going to be looking at someone like Harry Kane to get us that all important goal when everyone else is maybe a little bit edgy to take the shot. He’ll never pass up that opportunity.
“It was a really important game for him, the team. As captain as well, the way he led, it was perfect.”
Impressive
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was brilliant for England against Iran.
Yes, Kane did not score, but he dropped deep and helped in build-up play.
The striker is a leader on the pitch, and against Iran, he led by example.
Now, of course, against better opposition, Kane will have to focus more on staying in and around the penalty area.
But against a poor Iran team, he could afford to play the game like he likes to.
For England to win the Qatar World Cup, we think that Kane will have to maintain the level of performance he produced against Iran.
