Tottenham fans believe Arsene Wenger is a step closer to keeping his job.

Aaron Ramsey of Arsenal and team-mates acknowledge the fans after the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match between AC Milan and Arsenal at the San Siro on March 8, 2018 in Milan, Italy.

Arsenal’s streak of losses came to an end last night against a team on an undefeated streak.

The Gunners won 2-0 away to an AC Milan side who had not lost for 13 matches.

Goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey secured a satisfying win for Arsenal, who had been expected to be dealt a fourth straight loss.

The Gunners are one step closer to the Europa League quarter finals, and their ultimate prize of winning the trophy – and securing Champions League qualification.

They currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League, and like Manchester United last season, may need to win the Europa as their way into Europe’s top competition.

The result came 24 hours after another North London team were knocked out by an Italian side, but instead of being annoyed about Arsenal’s success, Tottenham fans reacted positively to the Gunners’ victory.

Manager Arsene Wenger has been under growing pressure over the past fortnight, with fans and pundits calling on him to quit.

This halts the negativity. It could be temporary, or it could lead to an Arsenal revival.

Spurs fans are hoping briefly for the latter, and that it leads to Arsene Wenger retaining his job and continuing to oversee a side turning in inferior results and performances.
