Despite having a left-back in Kieran Tierney, Arsenal reportedly want another one.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are after Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico and he’s interested in a move to North London.

Tierney has had an injury-hit first season at Arsenal following a £25 million move from Celtic last summer, but he was nearing full fitness at the time of the hiatus.

Tagliafico, who turns 28 in August, has been a big player for the Dutch giants since joining two years ago and started all 15 Champions League games on their adventure to the semi-finals last season, which included victories over Juventus, Real Madrid and a first-leg win away to Tottenham Hotspur.

Here’s how Ajax fans reacted to their player possibly joining the Emirates Stadium club on Twiter.

Any fan who is worried by this probably shouldn’t be, because it makes no sense.

Not that Tagliafico isn’t going to leave Amsterdam, because he could, but it’s illogical that the North Londoners would want him.

Tierney was a major investment at £25 million and with Bukayo Saka a very able deputy at left-back, spending £20 million on another option just doesn’t add up.
