Micah Richards has said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:43pm, December 22, 2022) that Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez could have scored six goals at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday evening if he played for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The Sky Sports pundit was impressed by the timing of the runs from Liverpool striker Nunez against his former club Manchester City in the Carabao Cup tie.
Defending Premier League champions City won the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Kevin De Bruyne was the star of the show for City and pulled the strings from the middle of the park.
Nunez fired wide three times.
The 23-year-old Uruguay international striker should have hit the target at least once.
Nunez, who played for Uruguay at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, provided the assist for Mohamed Salah’s goal, showing his incredible speed in the process.
The youngster showed how good he can with his pressing and closing down, but his finishing left much to be desired.
Former City star and Sky Sports pundit Richards was impressed by the timing of Nunez’s runs, and he believes that if he played for City last night, then he could have scored as many as six goals.
