Jose Enrique has said on Twitter that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should have signed James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool star has been hugely impressed by Maddison, and he believes that the England international playmaker would have been a perfect signing for the Merseyside club.

Enrique made the comments about the 25-year-old and Liverpool after watching the attacking midfielder in action for Leicester against Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Monday night.

The English playmaker scored two goals and provided an assist for the Foxes in the Premier League game.

Former Premier League winners Leicester won the game 4-0.

The 25-year-old has scored five goals and provided two assists in seven Premier League appearances for Leicester so far this season.

The Leicester no. 10 scored 12 goals and gave eight assists in 28 Premier League starts last season.

Could a future transfer happen?

In our view, if Liverpool want to sign James Maddison from Leicester City, then they would be able to do so.

Liverpool are a bigger and more ambitious club than Leicester and have one of the best managers in the world in Jurgen Klopp.

We think that Maddison would see the Reds as a huge step-up in his career and would be keen on a switch to Anfield, if Liverpool came calling.
