According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham recently met with Antonio Conte to discuss replacing José Mourinho in north London.
The Italian news outlet claim that the Italian held fruitful talks with Spurs, and they even discussed ways in which the squad could be improved.
In our view, the former Chelsea boss surely wouldn’t be talking about things like that if he didn’t have a slight interest in the vacancy.
Conte has just guided Inter Milan to their first Serie A title in 11 years, and looks to be starting an exciting project at the San Siro.
He has the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen in fine form, as the Italian giants sit 13 points clear at the summit of Serie A.
Conte is a fine manager, and Daniel Levy would be making a great appointment if he managed to hire him.
One man who’s also a fan of the 51-year-old is Jürgen Klopp, who has been complimentary towards Conte on numerous occasions.
The German once called the Italian the ‘perfect manager’ for Chelsea, just as his first season at Stamford Bridge was coming to an end.

FourFourTwo quote him as saying: “They have the perfect players and the perfect manager. It is the perfect fit.”
Another time, Klopp called Conte a ‘great’ manager, and said that his impact on Juventus was similar to that of Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.
The Liverpool boss is quoted by the Independent as saying: “The very important thing is he is a great manager, something like the ‘Pep Guardiola of Juventus’ if you want. He created their special type of play and had a very successful time there.”
There’s no denying that Conte is a coach from the top drawer.

He wins silverware wherever he goes, and often gets his teams playing exciting, attacking football with a solid defensive spine as well.
In our view, we can’t see the ex-Chelsea boss leaving Inter Milan after such a successful campaign.
It would surely take a monstrous offer from Levy to make Conte consider leaving the San Siro, seeing as his project is just starting to take shape.
However, stranger things have happened – keep your eye on Conte’s future.
