Newcastle United achieved their biggest away league victory in 54 years as they beat Queens Park Rangers 6-0 at Loftus Road in the Championship.

Newcastle United made it five Championship wins in a row with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.
Goals from Ayoze Perez, Ciaran Clark, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Grant Hanley and two from Jonjo Shelvey helped the Magpies pick up their biggest away league victory since 1962.
The 3,000 traveling Geordies were well rewarded for their loyal support as United ran the Hoops defence ragged all evening with one of their best away performances in recent memory.

And for a side who won just twice on their travels last term, it was a welcome change for Newcastle who now look to be really hitting form under Rafa Benitez after a poor start to the campaign.

But it was arguably goalscorer Ayoze Perez who posted the most notable response with two tweets that went down very well with the Newcastle fans as he sarcastically attempted to take credit for Shelvey’s stunning second.
Overall, it was a great night for the Newcastle players, fans and Benitez, who will be hoping to build on this positive result at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
