Manchester United’s three goal-scorers reacted on social media after their latest pre-season friendly.
Manchester United continued their pre-season tour of the USA when they faced San Jose Earthquakes in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and Louis van Gaal’s side maintained their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 victory.
Summer signing Memphis Depay scored his first goal since arriving at Old Trafford, while Juan Mata and exciting youngster Andreas Pereira also got on the score-sheet.
The Brazilian under-20 international was one of the players who took to social media following the game, writing, “Great feeling; really happy for the goal and the win, but I know there’s still a lot of work to do. Come on United.”
Pereira recently signed a new three-year contract at United and while he has barely featured for the first-team to date there is a feeling at the club that he could be one of the most talented players to come through their ranks for a long time.
Fellow goal-scorers Mata and Depay also took to Twitter with the latter simply writing: “My first goal for Manchester United,” while the Spaniard congratulated the Dutch international for his contribution.
Next up for United is a clash against Barcelona at the weekend and it will be interesting to see who van Gaal picks for that match.
