Manchester City striker Liam Delap has been spotted in training after a spell out on the sidelines through injury.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the 18-year-old attacker is back amongst the first team after missing the start of the season. Delap is just one of two strikers in Pep Guardiola’s City squad.
The forward is rated as one of the Manchester sides’ top academy products. Alongside Cole Palmer, Delap will likely one day become a regular fixture in the City first team, with the striker often involved in senior squad training.
Delap made a huge impact on City last season as the striker impressed in the early round of the League Cup. Yet this campaign has seen the forward miss out on precious first-team football due to injury.
The teenager looked set to leave City on loan this summer. The likes of R.S.C. Anderlecht and Stoke City were keen on Delap. But Guardiola decided to keep the forward in Manchester to work alongside the first team in training.
Indeed, whilst Delap is yet to play a minute of senior football for City, his return to training could boost the teenager’s chance of getting out on the pitch in the upcoming weeks.
