The Manchester City boss raved about Tottenham Hotspur in a recent interview.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola sat down for an exclusive interview with Italian media outlet Il Bianco Nero, and opened up on which teams he enjoys watching when he is not focusing on his own side, highlighting Spurs as a team who play an exciting brand of football.

The Spaniard has really stamped his authority on the English game this season, guiding his City side to a magnificent 20 wins and two draws from their opening 23 Premier League outings, and they currently sit comfortably at the top of the pile, 15 points clear of second placed Manchester United.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have endured mixed fortunes this term, and currently sit in fifth position in the Premier League table, three points adrift of the Champions League spots.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been inconsistent to say the very least, but they have still drawn plenty of plaudits for their exciting, expansive brand of football.

Guardiola spoke exclusively to Il Bianco Nero, and offered high words of praise for the Lilywhites:

“I’m more of a fan than coach. It’s on this basis that I choose who I watch. Of course, I like to follow Barcelona because I’m a fan of the club and I grew up there. I enjoy watching Napoli, who play very similar football, as do Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs have dropped some points but they always play good football. Even when they lose they tend to have had 25 shots at goal.”

The two side’s met earlier in the season at the Etihad, with Guardiola’s men running out as comfortable 4-1 winners, and they do not square off against each other again in the Premier League until April 14th.

And the Spaniard should expect a more difficult afternoon at Wembley than the one he experienced when he welcomed Poch’s men to the Etihad.
