The Manchester City boss is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola addressed the media ahead of his side’s clash with Tottenham at Wembley Stadium on Monday night, and raved about the quality of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, recalling the time that his team were taught a lesson at White Hart Lane two years ago, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
In Pep’s first season, City began in fine fashion, winning all of their opening six Premier League outings, before they were firmly stopped in their tracks in north London, losing 2-0 to a rampant Spurs side.
The Premier League champions head to Wembley on Monday night two points clear of Tottenham in the table, and Pochettino’s side will be looking to bring City’s unbeaten start to an end.
Guardiola spoke highly of Tottenham, when speaking to reporters, highlighting how his side’s defeat at White Hart Lane two years ago proved to be a huge learning curve, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News:

“We started quite good in terms of results. The way we played, some games it was not good. At White Hart Lane against Tottenham, the people say: ‘OK, City are going to win’. And we face Tottenham, a Mauricio Pochettino team, and see how good they were. I said ‘Wow, we are going to suffer. This season is going to be tough’. The people didn’t think about Tottenham going to win the league and I suffered, I lived, I experienced it for the first time away at White Hart Lane against physicality, an amazing team the way they play, high pressing, good build up. I said to my friends, ‘It will be tough this season’.”
City will have to be at their very best if they are to leave Wembley with anything to show for their efforts on Monday night, and Tottenham could very well pose them their greatest challenge so far this season.
