Tottenham Hotspur will play host to Manchester City in the Premier League tomorrow.
Pep Guardiola addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Tottenham at Wembley tomorrow, and shared a huge blow for his team, with the news that Sergio Aguero will not be available for selection, as quoted by Sky Sports.
City are in the midst of a really concerning run of form, having lost their last three games, and Guardiola will be keen for his side to bounce back immediately with a win against Spurs tomorrow.
Their chances of doing just that have taken a massive blow today, however, with Guardiola ruling star striker Sergio Aguero out until the final two games of the season at the earliest, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“He made a huge effort because after the action from Ashley Young against United he has problems in his knee. He could not train. He played the last 15 or 20 minutes [against Liverpool] and said after the game that he had a lot of pain and could not run. Hopefully he will be back for our last few games if we need him and especially for his World Cup.”
Aguero has been a key figure for the Citizens since joining from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011, and has racked up an incredible 199 goals in 292 appearances in all competitions.
Tottenham fans will surely be delighted to hear the news that the Argentine will not be fit for tomorrow’s game.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking to extend their 14-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, and cement their place inside the Premier League’s top four with a win over Guardiola’s wounded City side at Wembley.
