Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has told Sky Sports that he truly thinks Bernardo Silva is ‘back’ after shining against Sheffield United.

City beat the Blades 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, with Gabriel Jesus firing home from a Ferran Torres pass to grab the winner.

Guardiola’s men couldn’t find the second goal, but it was another win and another clean sheet for the Premier League leaders.

Other players have to step up now with Kevin De Bruyne out injured, and that means more creative responsibility for Silva.

The Portuguese ace has been through tricky times in recent memory, losing his form earlier this term before playing way back into Guardiola’s starting lineup.

Silva wasn’t all that creative on Saturday with no key passes to his name, but he did complete three dribbles in an impressive display.

Guardiola has now suggested that Silva – signed for £43million in 2017 – was ‘incredible’ against the Blades, even ‘absolutely brilliant’.

The City boss thinks that Silva is ‘back’ and playing at his true level again, praising him for always helping the team.

“What a huge competitor again. He played an incredible game and he was absolutely brilliant,” said Guardiola. “I am delighted he’s back and he is playing the level that we know. He can do everything. He is another top fantastic player who always does the service of the team,” he added.
