Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been quoted by Four Four Two as saying that he thinks that this weekend’s game against Tottenham will show what level his players are at.
City have been simply sensational in the Premier League so far, as Saturday’s 3-1 win over Swansea City means Guardiola has now won all six of his Premier League games so far this term.

Six wins from six, 18 goals scored, five goals conceded; the stats show that City are blowing the league away under Guardiola so far, and even when they faced rivals Manchester United in the biggest game of the season, they beat them 2-1.
However, this coming weekend looks like being one of their toughest tasks so far. City travel to North London to take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, pitting second against first on Sunday.
Spurs are the only other unbeaten side in the Premier League along with City, and sit just four points behind Guardiola’s men having won four of their first six games.

Both teams are in Champions League action in midweek as Spurs travel to face CSKA Moscow tonight, whilst Guardiola’s City head up to Scotland to take on Celtic – but both managers will be well aware of the huge clash this weekend.
Ahead of the game, Guardiola has been quoted by Four Four Two as saying that he thinks that Tottenham have been one of the best teams of the last two years, and that the game will show what level City are at – a hugely positive verdict on Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

“I’m so happy for this important victory because now we have two games before the [international] break,” said Guardiola after beating Swansea. “We’ve got the Champions League [against Celtic on Wednesday] and after we go to one of the best teams in the last two years at White Hart Lane. We’ll see how our level is there,” he added.
Guardiola clearly thinks highly of Tottenham, and is no stranger to Pochettino having done battle in Spain over the years. Whilst Guardiola was earning worldwide acclaim for his work with Barcelona, Pochettino was battling away with their city rivals Espanyol, living in Guardiola’s shadow throughout. This weekend, he’ll be hoping to grab a win over Guardiola and cement Tottenham’s position as a real title challenger.
