Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose was on Manchester City’s wish-list during the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola has hinted that Manchester City could look towards signing a new left-back in January, after Benjamin Mendy picked up an ACL injury.
Mendy is expected to miss the bulk of the Premier League season with his serious knee injury, and that leaves City’s options at left-back looking short.
Guardiola has now suggested that City could be forced to take action in January.
Guardiola’s words should put Tottenham Hotspur on alert, as Danny Rose is a player who is on City’s radar, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
Spurs fought off interest in Rose over the summer, but keeping the 27-year-old was not without its complications.

Rose put out an ill-advised public statement, suggesting that Spurs do not pay their players enough and suggesting that a move elsewhere would tempt him.
When Mendy arrived at City it seemed that one of Rose’s potential suitors had dropped out of the race, but it would hardly be a surprise to see Guardiola’s side enter the market for the England international again in January now.
And Spurs will be hoping that City’s interest does not create such a saga around the club, as it did during the summer months, if the current Premier League leaders do re-enter the race for Rose’s signature.
