Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told Leeds Live that he was impressed by Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s PowerPoint presentation in midweek.

Following the ‘Spygate’ scandal, Leeds head coach Bielsa called a press conference on Wednesday and gave a detailed account of how he has followed Derby County and all the other teams in the Championship and how he has tactically analysed them.

City boss Guardiola has given his take on Bielsa’s homework on the opposition and his meticulous research.

Guardiola told Leeds Live about Bielsa: “I saw highlights, I didn’t see the whole press conference, but I saw highlights and no manager around the world works with this amount of information that he produces for every single game, for every single player, for every single movement, for everything all that they do.

“You might analyse one, two, maybe three games, but one whole season? It is unique.”

Marcelo Bielsa, manager of Leeds United arrives ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United at City Ground on January 01, 2019 in Nottingham, England.

Title challenge

Leeds are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are in great position to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The West Yorkshire outfit are currently at the top of the league table with 54 points from 27 matches, a point clear of second-placed Norwich City, who have played 28 games.

The Whites will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Stoke City away from home in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are aiming to successfully defend the Premier League title this season.
