Speculation is rife that Manchester City could be signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

According to The Sun, Grealish’s representatives have given City the greenlight to sign their client in what would be a £100 million deal.

It’s ever so difficult seeing Aston Villa turn down that sort of money, even if the 25-year-old is one of their own.

Pep Guardiola is reportely ‘desperate’ to get the player [The Sun] – but he isn’t the only Manchester City man who’d be happy to see the England international come in.

Kevin De Bruyne may also be over the moon and that’s because the Belgium international is supposedly quite a big fan of the player.

According to The Athletic, De Bruyne made a ‘beeline’ for the Villa midfielder after an international clash last year and specifically asked to swap shirts with him after the game.

Good signing?

Well it’s a little steep for £100 million, but Grealish would undoubtedly give Manchester City an extra dimension going forward.

Guardiola’s side are one of the best in Europe, having lost the Champions League final 1-0 last month.

And few would deny that adding a player of the Aston Villa star’s ability doesn’t make them a hell of a lot stronger – and we haven’t spoken about how good they’d be if Pep also gets Harry Kane.

That’s a whole other topic and one that’ll get a lot more coverage on the coming weeks no doubt, but it’s safe to say that yes, Grealish would be a fine signing and the Premier League’s elite – and Europe’s elite – will take note.
