Pep Clotet has claimed that Leeds United are a ‘very strong team’, who are ‘one of the best teams’ in the Championship, as he warned that his Birmingham City side will ‘attack’ them on Saturday.

The former Whites Coach, who will be making a return to Elland Road as a manager, will be hoping his youthful Birmingham side can pull off an upset on the day.

Leeds suffered a 2-1 defeat to Millwall before the international break, with the game marred by a controversial sending off, which ended up costing Marcelo Bielsa’s side the three points.

As posted on Birmingham City’s official Twitter account, Clotet provided his verdict on Leeds and stated that he is ‘very satisfied’ with the work his team have put in over the international break.

“Leeds United are a very strong team, for me, they are one of the best teams in the league,” said Clotet. “I am very satisfied with our work this week and we have to go to Leeds confident of getting the result we all want.

“Leeds will want to attack at home, and that is what we want to do too, we have a lot of confidence in ourselves, we want to use this game as a way to improve, we hope that we see a fantastic football game and we hope that we link the performance with the result.”

This is another game that Leeds will be expected to win, and it was one they lost last season, so they will be well aware of the threat Birmingham have at their disposal.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Leeds do dominant possession, but as always, the talk at home will be about whether Bielsa’s side can take their chances.

Striker Eddie Nketiah struck a hat-trick for England’s U21’s earlier this week and he will be hoping to earn a start ahead of his more senior teammate, Patrick Bamford.
