Chris Wood was the hero for Leeds again on Tuesday night.

Leeds United assistant coach Pep Clotet has revealed via The Yorkshire Evening Post that he was delighted with Chris Wood’s match-winning performance in Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Elland Road played host to this fixture for the second time in a week as Wood struck late on to help Leeds book a League Cup quarter-final spot.

The big New Zealand striker came under fire from Whites supporters earlier in the campaign, but the 24-year-old now has five goals in his last seven games in all competitions.
And Clotet, who took over manager Garry Monk’s post-match duties on the night, says that he is delighted with Wood.
“We’re delighted with Chris’ performance. It was difficult for him because the game was spiced up in the end but he managed to be in the right spot,” he said to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

It was Leeds’ third successive win in all competitions and it certainly seems like United are clicking under Monk, who eight days ago was reportedly under pressure.
Another tricky test lies on the horizon as Ipswich Town now gear up to visit Leeds on Saturday, which isn’t easy, but the Whites’ collective confidence must be as high as it’s been for quite a while so few would rule out a fourth straight win.
