Speaking on The Athletic’s YouTube channel, James Pearce has been discussing Mohamed Salah’s situation at Liverpool as well as his work behind the scenes.
Salah has somehow hit an even higher level this season, he’s looking like the best footballer on the planet right now and the Egyptian is making headlines on seemingly a weekly basis.
Inevitably, his electric start to the season has led to speculation about his future with his contract expiring in 2023.
While his contract situation is unclear, Pearce is adamant that Salah is still 100 per cent committed behind the scenes, stating that the Egyptian has been wowing his teammates and the staff at the club.
What’s been said?
Pearce says that people behind the scenes have been blown away by Salah.
“You speak to his teammates and the staff. Going right back to the first-day of pre-season. Just how lean, hungry and strong he looked from the opening session. People were saying ‘wow, have you seen Mo Salah.’ His mentality, the way he took young players, put an arm around them, helped them and gave them advice. Those aren’t the antics of someone who has had their head turned,” Pearce said.

Not surprising
It’s not shocking to hear that Salah has been performing at an incredibly high standard in training and in pre-season. After all, he looks better than ever.
The Egyptian is flying right now, and even though this is a player who once his 32 goals in a single Premier League season, it’s fair to say that he’s in the form of his life right now.
When you’re impressing your teammates in a squad that includes the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara you are a very special player, and that’s exactly what Salah is.
