Ian Wright told Premier League Productions during their live coverage of Tottenham’s win against Burnley on Sunday that Gareth Bale hasn’t lost his pace.
A lot has been made about Bale’s return to Tottenham and how this once expensive Ferrari is resembling a second-hand car in recent months, rather than its true self.
But in recent weeks, Bale has been back to his best and no more than on Sunday when he scored a brace against Burnley.
During one moment of the match, he burst past Charlie Taylor and Highbury legend Wright shared that it showed that there is still pace in his legs.
“We know that Son and Harry Kane have got a nice repertoire with each other,” said Wright. “But when you throw Gareth Bale into that mix. You are going to get more.
“What we have seen there (run past Taylor). People saying he’s that he’s not going to be as quick. He looks quick there. When he was running there. And the quality that he’s got.”

For Bale, it’s about turning it up another level because both Jose Mourinho and Spurs need him firing.
Added with Europa League fixtures, a certain showdown with Arsenal is around the corner for Bale to increase his popularity in North London even more – well for one side of North London, anyway.
But he may well be timing this run to form and fitness to perfection for Spurs.
