Speaking on Michael Calvin’s Football People Podcast, Aaron Ramsdale has shared some insight into the Arsenal dressing room and how they view their title chances right now.
The Gunners are, of course, top of the league heading into the second-half of the season, but there is a hesitancy within the wider footballing world to christen them as champions-elect just yet.
Ramsdale says the squad feels the same. He says that nobody in the dressing room is actually willing to speak about the prospect of winning the league, but he does add that there is an underlying feeling that everyone knows they have a great chance.

Arsenal’s players know
Ramsdale spoke about the title race.
“We are going one game at a time and it’s what we want. There’s nothing being spoken about in the dressing room because we know what can happen and who is chasing us. I’m sat here now and there’s a real chance that we can do this,” Ramsdale said.
“People know inside the dressing room, but nobody is talking about it because things can happen. We could go on and do really well and a team puts together 17 game winning streak, there’s a real chance we can do it and it’s what every person in the building is working towards, it’s not just the players and coaching staff. It’s such a weird thing to think about. 18 months ago I was relegated. And now I can sit here and say there’s a hell of a chance that we can do it.”
Stay focused
It sounds like the Arsenal squad are approaching this in the right way.
There’s a quiet hope that they will win the league, but there’s also an immense focus on the next fixture and the next three points.
As Ramsdale says, there’s a long way to go yet, but Arsenal have put themselves in an incredibly strong position to go on and win the league this time around.
