Jack Harrison has praised and defended the under-fire Illan Meslier after Leeds United’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Tuesday night.
The Leeds United winger stated that Illan Meslier is a ‘fantastic’ and ‘talented’ goalkeeper despite questions about his recent performances.
During Leeds’ 2-1 defeat to Fulham, he was at fault for both of the goals scored, but he was back to his best against the Foxes, as Javi Gracia’s men try to claw their way to safety.

At 23, he is still learning his trade, making mistakes and trying to pick himself up. The only issue for him is that Leeds are battling relegation, so he can’t afford such slip-ups.
Either way, Jack Harrison came out to his aide following Leeds’ point against the Foxes, as he told the club’s official Twitter account.
“Illan is a talented player,” said Harrison. “He’s young. He is still learning. People forget how young he is playing in the Premier League.
“He is a fantastic goalkeeper, again, as a club, we are all behind him. We are backing him every game.
“If he gets caught up in what people are saying here and there, then it’s not ideal for us. I know he has a strong mentality. We as a team need to be behind one another and not care too much about what’s been said around, as long as we are a close-knit group inside the club, then we can get the results that we need.”

LEEDS’ BACKLINE NOT HELPING MESLIER
The young French keeper needs to take responsibility for his mistakes, but he isn’t helped by how his team play.
When Leeds are losing games, Meslier is watching his teammates rush forward like it’s the last minute of the match and leaing big space in-behind.
Added to that, there isn’t any real stability or consistency from the backline where every single player, apart from January signing, Max Wober, are questioned, so once again, that doesn’t help.
