Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been speaking about Mohamed Salah’s physicality after his performance against Manchester City at the weekend.
The Egyptian was on fire against the reigning Premier League champions, scoring a brilliant goal and getting into many dangerous positions.
Salah is usually noted for his speed, but on Sunday it was his strength that truly caught the eye, outmuscling a number of City players in tight situations, including Joao Cancelo for the winning goal.
Seaman was blown away by Salah’s strength, stating that a lot of fans don’t necessarily realise just how strong the attacker is due to his diminutive stature.

Salah’s so strong
Seaman discussed Salah’s strength.
“The thing that people don’t realise about Mohamed Salah, as small as he is, he’s so strong. He just flipped Cancelo and he does it with people who are even bigger than that, he’s got a really strong core which helps him hold people off and he did that brilliantly, not only did he hold him off, he controlled the ball as well,” Seaman said.
Scary
Salah is almost the perfect physical specimen as a footballer.
He’s one of the fastest players around, he’s super strong, and while he’s not tall a la Erling Haaland, his lack of height allows him to maintain an incredibly low centre of gravity, making him one of the trickiest dribblers in the game.
The Egyptian is the complete package, and while many probably don’t realise it, he is genuinely one of the strongest footballers in the Premier League in terms of how tough it is to shake him off of the ball.
Salah is so unique in this way, and Liverpool are very lucky to have a player like him.
