Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has named the club’s strongest player – and it isn’t Tyrone Mings.
At 6’4, Mings is certainly one of the most physically-imposing players in Dean Smith’s squad.
But Grealish, speaking to Joe.co.uk, has revealed that Aston Villa team-mate Keinan Davis is the strongest after experiencing his power first-hand on the training ground.
Here’s what Grealish said about the 6’3 striker, when discussing his FIFA 21 stats for physicality: “I’ll tell you who should be higher, Keinan Davis. I checked earlier. He’s 66 or something. He should be so much higher. People don’t realise how strong he is.”
When asked about Mings: “Nah. He [Mings] is strong but he ain’t like Keinan Davis. I can’t actually explain how strong he is.”
The 22-year-old has only managed 28 minutes of Premier League football this season under Smith.
But he has featured quite a lot in the League Cup, starting two of the Villans’ three games in that competition.
With Ollie Watkins bagging a hat-trick in the insane 7-2 win over Liverpool this past weekend, it seems unlikely that Davis will be spearheading Aston Villa’s attack in a Premier League game anytime soon.
But if Smith needs a towering, bullish striker to come off the bench, then we know Davis is the answer.
