Gunners legend Thierry Henry has said on Amazon Prime Video (7:45pm, December 26, 2022) that Eddie Nketiah left Chelsea for Arsenal because of the presence of Tammy Abraham at the Blues.

Henry has said that because of how good Abraham was in his youth days at Chelsea, fellow English striker Nketiah decided to leave the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners for Arsenal.

Nketiah was on the books of Chelsea from 2008 until 2015 before leaving for London and Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has established himself as part of the Arsenal first-team squad in recent years.

While Nketiah is not a regular in the starting lineup at the Gunners, with Brazil international Gabriel Jesus now injured, the former Leeds United loanee will get his chances for the North London club.

The 23-year-old English striker scored for Arsenal in the London derby against West Ham United on Boxing Day.

The Gunners continue to march on in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.

Abraham came through the Chelsea youth system.

The 25-year-old England international striker was on the books of Chelsea from 2004 until 2021 when he left for good – to AS Roma.
