Darren Bent has told Southampton forward Theo Walcott on talkSPORT that he would not be happy if he scored against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and celebrated his goal against the Gunners.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker made the comments after Walcott said that he would celebrate scoring against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium even if the fans are there.
Walcott was on the books of Arsenal from 2006 until 2018 when he moved to Everton.
The 33-year-old £75,000-a-week (Spotrac) forward is now at Southampton.
Walcott scored against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League in December 2020.
That was the period when in England, there were restrictions on fans at stadiums due to Covid-19.
Theo Walcott on celebrating scoring v Arsenal at Emirates Stadium
Walcott said about scoring against Arsenal inside a packed Emirates Stadium: “It would be amazing, wouldn’t it?”
Arsenal fan Bent replied: “I will be giving you pelters. I am telling you now, if I am there, I will be giving you pelters.”

Walcott responded: “I absolutely love Arsenal. I just feel that for me, the sort of man that I am, my kids, I want to teach them you score goals and you get a really good feeing.”
Nothing wrong with that
In our view, a player scoring against his former club at his former ground is perfectly allowed to celebrate.
Why shouldn’t he?
As long as he does not disrespect his former club’s fans, it is absolutely fine.
We do not think that Theo Walcott will celebrate scoring against Arsenal in a disrespectful way.
So, if the Englishman does find the back of the net at a packed Emirates Stadium, then the Arsenal fans should understand if he celebrates with his current teammates.
