West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media yesterday, ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Leicester City tomorrow, and reeled off a lengthy list of first-team players who are unavailable for selection, as quoted by Football.London.

The Hammers have made somewhat of a slow start to their 2018/19 Premier League campaign, although they have shown signs of improvement over the past month.

Claude Puel’s Leicester side will represent a tough test for West Ham tomorrow, and the east London outfit will head into the game with seven of their first-team stars unavailable for selection.

Pellegrini spoke to reporters yesterday, and named the seven first-teamers who will miss out on tomorrow’s clash with the Foxes, as quoted by Football.London:

“Andriy Yarmolenko he has had surgery so he will be out around five or six months. The others, Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere are recovering, same with Winston Reid and Manuel Lanzini and Carlos Sanchez. Pedro (Obiang) had, at the end of last week, a small calf injury i his muscle. It is not serious but he needs some days more to recover. I hope he will be ready on Wednesday for the cup game.”

Pellegrini does have a strong squad of players at his disposal, but the absence of seven key men would be a big blow for even the league’s biggest clubs, and the Chilean will be hoping that his second-string rise to the occasion at the King Power tomorrow.
