West Ham United could be in the market for a striker this month.

West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has told Football.London that Javier Hernandez remains an important part of his squad – and wouldn’t confirm a bid for Genoa attacker Krzysztof Piatek.
The Hammers may have been in the market for a striker anyway this month, but their needs may become even greater in the coming weeks.
Marko Arnautovic is being strongly linked with a move to China, whilst Mexican ace Hernandez has been a target for Valencia, according to Sky Sports.
If either leave, West Ham would be seriously short up top, and they are being linked with a host of strikers as a result of the duo being targeted.
SportItalia’s Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that West Ham have offered €40million (£35million) for Genoa hitman Krzysztof Piatek, identifying him as the top target should Arnautovic go.
The Polish hitman, 23, has hit 19 goals in 21 games for Genoa this season, and would represent a hugely exciting signing if West Ham really are pursuing his signature.
Today, Pellegrini was asked about Piatek, but in true Pellegrini fashion, wouldn’t be drawn on confirming whether or not a bid has been submitted for him.

Pellegrini also suggested that Hernandez will continue to be important to West Ham, possibly hinting that he will be staying at the London Stadium rather than going to Valencia.
“No. I won’t talk about rumours,” said Pellegrini. “It is impossible to talk about so many names that are always involved around this club.”
“These are all just rumours about so many players that will come to West Ham or go from West Ham, Javier is part of the squad. Unfortunately for him he has had two long injuries this season for about five weeks every time. He will continue to be an important player for us,” he added.
