Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly close to signing Pele, and doubling up with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere would be fantastic.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the Wolves manager looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Millwall and Wolverhampton at The Den on December 26, 2017 in London, England.

According to the print edition of A Bola [published on April 24, 2018], Premier League-bound Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to make their first signing since sealing a return to the top flight.

The Portuguese outlet reports that Wolves will tie up a £9 million deal for Rio Ave defensive midfielder Pele.

If true, it certainly indicates that Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo is setting his stall out very early in preparation for next season – and the addition of Jack Wilshere would make it a fine double coup.

The Mirror reported last week that Wolves are also set to rival other Premier League sides for the signing of Arsenal midfielder Wilshere, whose contract expires this summer and would therefore be available for free.

And if Nuno only has to pay £9 million on both signings then it has to go down as a brilliant deal for the Portuguese manager – especially if they keep Ruben Neves at Molineux.

That is a midfield three worthy of the Premier League and getting both deals done could go a long, long way to helping the West Midlands side stay in the top flight next season and beyond.
