Pedro Porro has called ex-Tottenham Hotspur winger Marcus Edwards a ‘baller’ on Instagram.

The Sporting Lisbon star scored a stunning goal against Tottenham last season in the Champions League to remind his old fans what he is all about.

And now Marcus Edwards has continued that form this season, with two goals and three assists from nine league games.

Back in 2019, Tottenham parted ways with their academy product, even though there were high expectations on his shoulders, including Mauricio Pochettino comparing him to Lionel Messi

It might not have worked out at Spurs for the 24-year-old, but he has now found his feet in Portugal’s top tier.

Marcus Edwards took to Instagram to share a highlight reel of his performances, with Pedro Porro, Ryan Sessegnon and ex-Everton star, Ademola Lookman reacting in the comments section.

Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro told Edwards that he is a ‘baller’, whilst Lookman said he is a ‘big player’ and Sessegnon sent fire emojis to the player.

Marcus Edwards return to Tottenham?

The English star went the long way around, but he is now starting to showcase that promise many saw in him during his younger days at White Hart Lane.

With a certain Richarlison struggling, if that continues going into next summer, then would Spurs be keen on bringing Edwards back?

There are suggestions that Spurs could bring Edwards back, which would be an interesting move by the north London club.

Ange Postecoglou has made a rapid start to life at Hotspur Way and you could just see someone like Edwards shining bright for a team who, even if they are down to nine men, would play on that front foot.
