West Ham United have made tremendous strides over the past couple of months, but are struggling to turn draws into wins.

Hammers midfielder Pedro Obiang spoke to the club’s official website in the wake of his side’s 1-1 draw with Watford on Saturday, and shared what was said amongst the players in the dressing room at Vicarage Road following the game.

West Ham were by far the better side in the second half, and would have felt hard done by to leave Hertfordshire with a single point, rather than all three.

And it is becoming a common theme for Slaven Bilic’s men, who seem to be dominating games of late, but failing to cross the line with a victory.

And the Spaniard spoke to WHUFC.com about his disappointment at his side’s failure to win the game on Saturday, sharing a conversation the players had amongst themselves regarding their failure to bring all three points back to East London:

“In the changing room after the game we spoke about the fact we had a lot of the ball and a lot of chances near to their goal, but we didn’t decide to do it, and because of that we drew the game. Watford didn’t have too many chances aside from their penalty and one in the final minute, but for 60 minutes we played totally better than them.”

Something that is definitely harming the Hammers’ chances of winning games more regularly is Andy Carroll’s inability to remain fit for more than a few games in a row.

The positive effect he has on the team is clear for all to see, and if Bilic and his medical team can find a way of maintaining the 6ft 4in striker’s fitness throughout the course of an entire season, maybe then they will be able to achieve what they are truly capable of.
