West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has told the club’s official website that he thinks ‘everything will change’ for striker Simone Zaza.
The Hammers ended their concerning run of defeats with a 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough on Saturday, with Dimitri Payet stealing the headlines with a stunning solo equaliser.
One of West Ham’s top players in that game was midfielder Pedro Obiang, who has been struggling to nail down a regular place in Slaven Bilic’s team since signing from Sampdoria in the summer of 2015.

Snapped up on loan from Juventus with a view to a permanent deal, Zaza was supposed to be the man to boost West Ham’s attacking options – but the 25-year-old has yet to score, or even look like scoring.

The Italian international needs to start finding the net sooner rather than later, though West Ham may be forced into an early decision on his future given that his deal will become permanent after a certain number of appearances.
With fans left questioning Zaza’s ability, Obiang has moved to defend the striker, having also made the move from Italy to East London in recent times.

Obiang was asked about his friendship with Zaza, and told the club’s official website that he thinks ‘everything will change’ for the striker once he scores that elusive first goal for the club.
“We just need one goal from Simone and I am sure that everything will change,” said Obiang as he defended his new team-mate.
