West Ham United played out a 3-3 draw with Peterborough United in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for the club.
The 23-year-old made his debut for the Hammers in their pre-season friendly game against Peterborough United at London Road on Saturday afternoon.
The former Sampdoria star started the encounter and gave a decent account of himself, as West Ham played out a 3-3 draw.
Following the game, Obiang, who joined the Hammers from Serie A outfit Sampdoria earlier this summer, posted the following message on Twitter:
Big season ahead
Obiang has been signed with the intention of making West Ham a real force in the Premier League and make them competitive enough to challenge for a European spot.
The former Spain Under-21 international has arrived in England with a strong reputation, and he will be determined to make a good start to his Premier League career.
Obiang was one of the best players for Sampdoria in the 2014-15 Serie A campaign.
The Spanish midfielder scored three goals and created 28 chances in 33 league appearances.
The 23-year-old had a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 52%, and won 22 headers, 26 dribbles and 76 tackles.
