Reported Celtic target and Liverpool youngster Pedro Chirivella played against the Tottenham Hotspur Under-23 side at Anfield on Friday.

Celtic have been linked with Pedro Chirivella in the summer transfer window, and the 21-year-old defensive midfielder’s performance for the Liverpool Under-23 side against their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts on Friday evening will encourage the Celtic Park faithful.
According to Goal.com, Celtic are interested in signing Chirivella from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Glasgow giants are hoping to secure the services of the 21-year-old after he turned down the chance to join Rosenborg despite a fee being agreed between the two clubs.
Celtic are claimed to be the leading contenders for the former Spain Under-17 international, who was in action for the Liverpool Under-23 side against their Tottenham counterparts at Anfield.
The youngster started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it ended in a 1-1 draw.
Chirivella gave a solid and tidy display in midfield and was very mature both on the ball and off it, and the 21-year-old’s performance impressed some Liverpool fans on social networking site Twitter, as shown below.
While it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to secure the services of the midfielder in the summer transfer window, the Spaniard’s performance against the Tottenham U-23 side on Friday evening showcased his potential and what he will add to the Hoops.
