Pedro Chirivella has not played a Premier League game for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool since a 3-1 defeat to Swansea City in 2016.

Pedro Chirivella has admitted that his time at Liverpool has come to an end and he is keen to bid farewell to Anfield when the January transfer window swings open, as reported by Marca.
Having moved to Merseyside from Valencia all the way back in 2013, the seldom-seen Spaniard is actually one of the most long-serving players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad. But, in six years, he has made just one Premier League appearance and looks very unlikely to add to that tally any time soon.
Chirivella has spent the last two years on loan in Holland with Willem II and Go Ahead Eagles and, despite the fact that he recently played for Liverpool for the first time since 2016, the former Spain U17 stay thinks that a clean break is needed as he looks to get his career off the ground.
“I was close to going back to Spain in the summer, but due to circumstances (Liverpool) decided that I had to stay,” Chirivella said, admitting that he would like to play again in his homeland.

“You have to be realistic; the opportunities (at Liverpool) are not frequent due to the players that are there.
“Yes, I would like to find a solution in January and return to Spain. And if not, we would look to next summer definitely.”
Chirivella came off the bench in each of Liverpool’s last EFL Cup fixtures, against MK Dons and Arsenal, but it appears that a man who made his debut under Brendan Rodgers has slipped behind Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and co in Klopp’s pecking order.
A parting of the ways is overdue.
