Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Rangers need to make drastic changes to the squad in the summer transfer window.

McManus made the suggestion following Rangers’ 2-0 defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic at Hampden Park in Glasgow in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

The performance of Pedro Caixinha’s side against the Bhoys left much to be desired, as many of the players failed to perform to the best of their abilities.

According to McManus, Rangers need to make 10 to 15 new signings in the summer transfer window and part company with as many of the current players.

There are a number of good players in the current Rangers squad, but the Gers do need to sign players in the summer transfer window.

However, it would not be possible for the Ibrox to get an entirely new team. Bringing into 15 players is not possible for even the richest of clubs.

Rangers will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
