Pedro Caixinha has revealed to Rangers’ official website that fans of the Ibrox club can expect to see a “very skillful” winger in Daniel Candeias next season

The 29-year-old joined Rangers on a two-year deal to become Caixinha’s fifth signing of the summer.

The Portuguese manager, who has also signed Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio and Fabio Cardoso, previously worked with the Gers new boy at Nacional in Portugal.

And the 46-year-old has revealed to the club’s website that Rangers supporters can look forward to a skillful player who “really sacrifices” himself for the team.

“Daniel is a fantastic guy and a great player. He is someone who I had the pleasure of working with four or five years ago, and he is a winger who can perform on the right and on the left.

“He is also very skillful on the set-pieces like corners and wide free-kicks, and he is someone who really sacrifices to help the team all the time, both in attack and defence, and I believe he is going to help us to have strong play particularly in the wide areas.”

Candeias was on loan with Turkish side Alanyaspor last season, netting four goals in 30 appearances for the Super Lig side whom he snubbed in favour of a move to the Gers.

He certainly appears to be a fine talent and Rangers supporters will be hoping that he is followed to Glasgow by further recruits. Having finished 39 points behind Celtic last season, they need all the help they can get.
