Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha suggests that the Ibrox club wanted to sign Motherwell’s Louis Moult in the summer transfer window.

Moult is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the current Motherwell team.
The 25-year-old is likely to start for Motherwell against Rangers in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup this afternoon.
Ahead of the tie, Rangers manager Caixinha has suggested that the Gers outfit were interested in signing the former Stoke City striker in the summer transfer window.

“I can tell you he was on our database, on our list,” Caixinha told The Glasgow Evening Times about Moult.
“He was not the last one on it otherwise he would be here with us but he was definitely a player we looked at from the previous season to the start of this one.”

Moult is a very good striker, and the former Wrexham man would have been a good signing for Rangers in the summer transfer window.
The Gers, though, seem to have moved on and made other signings, but one should not be surprised if they return for him in the January transfer window or next summer.
After all, if Rangers are to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title, they need to sign as many good players as they can.
According to The Glasgow Evening Times, Moult has scored nine goals in 14 appearances for Motherwell so far this season.
